New Marinas Overseas

Hi, my name is David Coulling, and welcome to this blog which is all about overseas property for boat owners. I love sailing and throughout my life have lived in several places around the world, so hopefully I can speak from personal experience. About 2 years ago I started another site helping boat owners with specialist finance for their boats and yachts using the Italian and French leasing solutions. This has been been very successful, but one of the questions I was often asked was whether I could advise on where new marinas were being built, comments on existing ones, and suggestions for new resorts and marinas which would be great both as a base for the boat, and also to live.

I have finally found the time to start this new blog, which will be updated regularly with new marina developments, international finance issues, some of the legal issues of living overseas ( whether as a second home, or full time ) and mortgage and currency advice. From time to time I will also comment on new boats and related issues, but primarily it will be about property which is close to, or in a marina. My own personal view is that the ideal is for the boat to be berthed at the front door - not always possible!!!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site, and that in some small way I can help with suggestions of where to live and sail - I have built up contacts with many developers over the years so hopefully you will find some useful information here.
